To Do
BABYLONSTOREN
“We just LOVE this place! We’ve been going there since they opened, and somehow, it just keeps getting better and better—how is that even possible when it was perfect from day one? The farm, with its beautiful gardens, shops, greenhouse, and spa, is simply amazing. Even better, stay in their hotel for a weekend. Our top pick and a must-visit when you have a day off.”
HOT HUTS
“Simone and I are fans of cold water dips (or swims, depending on the day), but my body takes the whole day to warm up again afterward. The solution? Check where the Hot Huts are set up on which day and plan your dip/swim accordingly—it's a spa with a view!”
LLANDUDNO BEACH
“Llandudno used to be my go-to spot for sunbathing, but now shade is my best friend. Llandudno Beach is absolutely amazing, and if the wind picks up, just pack your towel and head to one of the protected Clifton beaches.”
OZCF MARKET
"Simone likes to get there early when it opens, but I prefer to go after 12. You’ll find us there every Saturday and Sunday when we can! It’s open until 2 PM on weekends, and Wednesday evenings from 5 PM during the best months. Fresh produce, antiques, local brands, and cooked meals—all with a stunning ocean view. The best market ever!”
BISKOP STEPS
“Our black beast, but so addictive: 301 stairs that get your heart racing. You’ll suffer, sweat, maybe curse a bit, but the feeling afterward is wow (though walking the next day might be tough). Plus, the view over Clifton Beach is stunning. After training on the stairs, you’re expected to dive into Clifton’s refreshing waters. Or, if you prefer calmer waters, head to Camps Bay, Saunders, or Maidens Cove tidal pool.”
LION’S HEAD SUNRISE HIKE and PIPELINE TRAIL
"One of our regular weekend activities is hiking the popular Lion's Head—best done at sunrise! If you prefer something more gentle, the no-sweat Pipeline offers another way to enjoy Cape Town's beauty at your own pace."
SEA POINT PROMENADE
"Don’t miss out on a long, leisurely walk along the Sea Point Promenade—it's a classic for locals, so expect a busy mix of babies in prams, dogs on leashes, cyclists, runners, and friends catching up. And while you're there, grab some delicious French fries—you'll just have to find a way to eat them without the seagulls spotting you. We’ve had more than a few funny moments trying to outsmart them!"
THEATRE ON THE BAY
"This is our theater of choice, and it just so happens to host amazing shows all the time. We love its intimate setting—it’s cozy yet spacious enough to fully enjoy every brilliant performance we’ve seen there."
TUFT CROWD
"Warning: this is dangerously addictive… Even if you don’t consider yourself crafty, you’ll be surprised at what you can make! You might end up with more carpets than floors—we simply can’t resist."
1st THURSDAYS
"Every first Thursday of the month, Bree Street comes alive with open shops, food trucks, and music. What started as a cultural event with art galleries staying open late has blossomed into a lively evening across all the surrounding streets. It's an experience you have to try at least once."
LABIA THEATRE
"Who doesn’t love a classic vintage cinema? Be sure to book your movie in Screen 1 for the authentic vintage experience. And yes, you can enjoy a glass of wine while you indulge in your movie!"
BAKOVEN and BETA BEACH
"It might not have the dramatic beauty of Llandudno or the buzz of Clifton’s beaches, but Bakoven has something special. It’s always been our favorite swimming spot, and we absolutely love it!"
STER KINEKOR
“This movie theatre takes luxury to the next level with its VIP experience—think of it as the business class of movie-going. The seats are incredibly comfortable, and you can enjoy drinks and popcorn delivered directly to your seat. There's even the option to indulge in a selection of alcoholic beverages, making it the perfect way to elevate your cinema experience.”
ZEITZ MOCCA
“I’m a big fan of the Zeitz MOCAA. I’ve seen some incredible exhibitions there, but what I love most is wandering through this unique space, which by itself brightens my day.”
